British Science Week 2025

This year, we marked British Science Week with an exciting range of hands-on activities, experiments, and projects across all year groups. Our theme focused on Adapt and Change, encouraging our young scientists to think critically and creatively about real-world challenges.

💦 Nursery Acorns had a splash discovering which objects float or sink, learning about buoyancy through fun experiments.

🚣 Reception Saplings became young engineers, designing and building rafts to rescue farm animals, testing which materials float best.

🏠 Year 1 Willow focused on building waterproof houses, ensuring they could withstand the elements.

🏡 Year 2 Maple took things further by designing and creating flood-proof homes, understanding how structures can be adapted for extreme weather.

🌾 Year 3 Pine tackled an agricultural challenge, constructing floating gardens to protect crops from rising water levels.

🌊 Year 4 Elm explored extreme weather and built land defences to guard against tsunamis.

💧 Year 5 Cherry worked on water sustainability, learning how to filter and reuse water to reduce waste.

⚡ Year 6 Oak investigated hydroelectric power, designing a model for our community to see how renewable energy could be harnessed.

This incredible week of science, engineering, and creativity showcased our students' curiosity and problem-solving skills. Well done to everyone involved! 👏🔍🌎
